Leak Insurance

In efforts to provide the best possible service to our customers, and provide the greatest value for each member, we have implemented a new LEAK INSURANCE program.

The insurance is provided by Servline and replaces the leak adjustment policy the district has used in the past. Now, each customer can utilize this insurance to cover the water bill, once a year instead of one adjustment per meter, per lifetime. 

Please review the policy, which is located under the Forms & Reports tab on our website, HughesRWD6.com. The monthly charge is $2.35/meter, which goes to Servline. The district does not get this money. Servline then, with a qualifying claim, pays the district for the water bill.

There are a few key points to make. Every customer funds this business. The district has no other sources of revenue than what we receive from water bills. Each one of us are funding EVERYTHING we do to provide the superior quality of water and services. Every leak, every adjustment, is paid for by the members. The cost of the water lost, the loss of revenue, must be absorbed by the business and funded by each customer. Every customer has a stake in our business and share of the costs. The Board and staff have been working to find solutions that help benefit the customers, keep costs low, and still adequately fund our district. We believe this is a big step in providing better service, greater value and benefit to each customer and the district. Should you choose not to participate in this program, you will be responsible for the entire bill.
